Why Should We Pray - Part 2
By Michael Day
Why do we pray? Let's review... Jesus sacrificed everything so you could have a heavenly Father to talk to. If you're saved, then you're God's adopted child(Rom. 8:15-16) and God is eagerly waiting "on the other end of the line" to hear from you. But why else do we pray?
2. God "..is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us..."(Eph. 3:20).
Do you really believe that? Do you really believe that He can heal your broken heart and bandage your wounds (Ps.147:3)?? Do you really believe that He can bring comfort to a mourning family, or heal a mother who's battling cancer, bring a friend out of a drug addiction, give a single mother the car she desperately needs, or give you and your spouse the child you've been trying to have for years ??? Can He provide the money you need to go back to college next semester?? Sure He can !! Can He turn the hearts of the people in your community to Himself?? Of course !!
What about the problem that YOU'RE facing today?? What is it that you think is too big for God?? I love what King Nebuchadnezzar said in Daniel 3:29, after the three Jewish guys came out of the furnace, "...there is no other God who can deliver like this." !!!!!!!!! That's the God who wants to know what's on your mind today !! That's the Abba Father who wants to hear you tell Him that you love Him today. That's the Father who delights in giving "..good things to those who ask Him"(Matt.7:11). Ask Him today. He doesn't write bad checks, He doesn't use credit, and He's always got more than enough, even for you !!
